The encroachment of AI into psychoanalysis raises significant concerns. AI apps like ChatGPT, Pi, Claude, and others offer various forms of assistance, but their capabilities in emotional and psychological support are limited. This paper explores why AI cannot replace psychoanalysis, focusing on Emotional Communication's unique role in therapy. I offer case examples of the use of Emotional Communication which are deconstructed to explain the contrast between psychoanalysis and AI. Participants will have the opportunity to differentiate between emotionally based versus cognitively based therapeutic interventions and share some of their own examples.
